O 52º Juno Awards anual acontecerá no dia 13 de março em Edmonton, Alberta. Liderando a lista está The Weeknd com seis indicações, incluindo o prêmio TikTok Juno Fan Choice, a única categoria votada pelo público. O cantor também concorre a single, álbum, artista, compositor e álbum pop.

Considerada a categoria mais importante do evento, o “Artista do Ano” é disputada por artistas como: Avril Lavigne, The Weeknd, Lauren Spencer-Smith, Michael Bublé e Shawn Mendes. Vale lembrar que, nas edições passadas, The Weeknd já foi três vezes vencedor, Mendes conquistou duas vezes a premiação e Bublé ganhou uma.
A única categoria reservada para artistas não canadenses é “Álbum Internacional do Ano”, que neste ano conta com grandes obras: “=”, de Ed Sheeran; “Harry’s House”, de Harry Styles; “Montero”, de Lil Nas X; “Midnights” e “Red (Taylor’s Version)”, de Taylor Swift.
O show será apresentado pelo segundo ano consecutivo pelo ator canadense Simu Liu (“Shang-Chi” e “A Lenda dos Dez Anéis”), cujo “I Am Canadian!” discurso foi um grande sucesso.
Nickelback será uma das bandas que irão se apresentar na premiação. O show de duas horas também incluirá apresentações ao vivo de Alexisonfire, Jessie Reyez, Banx & Ranx com Pablo e Rêve, McRae, Tenille Townes e Aysanabee.
