Chester Bennington recebe homenagens do Green Day durante a “Revolution Radio Tour”

As homenagens ao cantor Chester Bennington, que cometeu suicídio há cerca de duas semanas, não têm fim. Billie Joe Armstrong, líder do Green Day, direcionou todos os pensamentos para o músico em apresentação que aconteceu nesta terça-feira, 2, em Washington. A banda, que está em progresso com a “Revolution Radio Tour” nos Estados Unidos, cantou “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”, um dos principais hits do grupo, em tributo à Bennington.

“Eu também quero dedicar essa música hoje à noite para Chester”, disse Billie Joe, para delírio do público, que cantou todo o trecho inicial acompanhando o frontman do Green Day.

Além do Green Day, outras homenagens ao vocalista do Linkin Park merecem destaque: as mensagens de suas ex-esposas, Talinda e Samantha Bennington, a música dedicada pelo 30 Seconds to Mars em Nova Iorque e, mais recentemente, o tributo do Coldplay com uma versão de “Crawling” no piano e da cantora Kiiara, que divide os vocais de “Heavy” com Chester. Em certo momento do show da cantora, ela saudou o colega de profissão e deu ‘play’ em “Battle Symphony”, do último álbum produzido pelo Linkin Park, o “One More Light”. Vale lembrar que Kiiara foi mais uma das personalidades a usar seu Instagram pessoal para publicar uma carta em memória do músico.

Remember when I asked you before our tv performance when this would get easier , if it will ever get easier. You told me yes when u quit giving a fuck , when u go out there on stage without a care in the world. I think I now realize how to implement that. You taught me so much and made me feel like family instantly. When we performed heavy together u were my shield. You held everything down and helped me overcome one of my fears. Even tho I never anticipated you being in the sky singing heavy with me, I know you’ll still be my shield with an even better view this time. I’ll never understand why ur gone and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to accept it. You made my dreams come true. Remember when u told me i could join the band 😅😂. 5 year old me would never believe me if I went back in time and said in 16 years ur gonna be singing w legends. You and the entire Linkin Park family took me under ur wing and helped me so much not just w music and performing, but helped show me the importance of family and friendship. That it’s possible to have that within the team and people u choose to have around u. You showed me how to make this path fun and that what I’m looking for and working towards is possible. You all put me on this platform and showed me endless amounts of respect. I will do my best to honor your greatness. ur rare. I love u Chester. 💜
