Em meio à críticas, Grammy 2019 consagra artistas negros e mulheres

Nos Estados Unidos, racismo não é um crime ediondo, e segmenta diariamente a população. Em um país conhecido por sua origem derivada de imigrantes, a América passa por um momento delicado, corroborado por atitudes drásticas oriundas do atual presidente do país, Donald Trump. E em meio a críticas, a que têm sido submetida nos últimos anos, a Academia Nacional de Artes e Ciências de Gravação, responsável pelo Grammy, foi obrigada a rever algumas de suas ações. E em um ano muito rico para a música, novos e grandes nomes foram coroados pela premiação.

Se Lady Gaga roubou a cena por sua atuação (como atriz e cantora) como Ally, no longa “Nasce Uma Estrela“, que lhe rendeu três prêmios na noite, Childish Gambino fez história com uma música forte e que bate de frente com todo esse pensamento segregacional. “This Is America“, um dos maiores sucessos da história recente do hip hop norte-americano, foi coroada a “Premiação do Ano“, desbancando carimbados nomes da premiação como Drake.

Um nome pouco conhecido no Brasil, Kacey Musgraves deixou para trás grandes sucessos do ano, ao se coroar vencedora na categoria “Álbum do Ano“. A artista, que concorria com nomes como Cardi B e Drake, mostrou que o Country ainda é presença forte de representação no país.

Esquecida em 2018, o Grammy corou Dua Lipa como “Artista Revelação“. O prêmio, que muitos consideram como “tardio”, pegou a estrela de surpresa, que estava nos bastidores quando anunciada.

Ainda há destaques para grandes nomes: Beyoncé e Jay-Z levaram o trofeu de “Melhor álbum de música urbana” por “Everything is Love“; Cardi B foi a primeira mulher da história do Grammy a receber o prêmio de “Melhor álbum de rap“, por “Invasion Of Privacy“, seu álbum de estreia.
